Where we work
In order to generate evidence, knowledge and experience on innovative and scientifically validated integrated adaptation practices combining EbA and CBA and facilitate the flow of practical information on integrated approaches to adaptation between practitioners, policymakers, researchers and civil society, ELAN's action is especially targeting countries in East and Southern Africa, the Mekong Delta, and the Andes.
These regions boast a diverse range of ecosystems that provide vital services to some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. They face a range of environmental challenges including landslides and glacial melt impacts (mountain biomes), flooding and subsequent erosion (lowland, riparian areas), saltwater intrusion and coastal erosion (coastal areas), land use changes necessitated by climate change (agriculture, broader land and natural resource use), and provide therefore a diverse series of issues and solutions.
